The CMHA PA Branch is a non-profit, community based, organization that provides educational workshops for the General Public as a whole. As well, they provide inclusive programming for people coping with mental health issues and illnesses.
Currently we operate programs through our location on Central Avenue in Prince Albert.
These programs consist of:
- The Nest Drop In Center
- The Nest Lunch program.
- The Homestead Quilting program.
- Independent Living Program.
The Prince Albert Branch of CMHA was founded in 1989.
Our vision: Mentally Healthy People in a healthy Society
Goals: Provide Advocacy, Education, Programs and Services
Hope: Work with communities to achieve our goals through Education, Fundraising, Sponsorship and Volunteerism.
Our vocational work programs provide…
A sense of purpose to our participants on a daily basis
Self esteem and self worth are enhanced by the responsibility they show in attending work regularly
A sense of belonging to the community as a whole
The participants take pride in the fact they are able to work at the store, in the quilting program, or as part of the “Nest” staff (consisting of cooks, clean-up and janitorial). All of the participants working in our programs are doing so voluntarily. For their efforts, they receive a small honorarium
